Asana premium users can’t know at a glance what custom fields in Asana workspace are active. It must be fixed
Asana, the task management application, introduced the custom fields feature in 2016. Two years later, Asana announced 50,000 paying customers, way more than double the amount before custom fields in Asana.
In the last two years, Asana gained 1.5 more paying customers than in the previous five.
The custom fields feature was the game-changer for Asana.
After adding the link capability to the text field, there is one big issue to resolve ASAP – the ability to a full view of custom fields in Asana.
What’s the problem?
In Asana you can add custom fields to projects. Once a custom field is related to a project, it can be added to other projects. In order to live in Asana, a custom field must be active in at least one project.
Within any project, you can view all the custom fields in Asana that are related to the project. Inside a task of that project, you can view custom fields the task has in other projects.
There is one view missing: All custom fields in Asana workspace.
Currently, there are two ways to know what custom fields you have in Asana:
- The annoying way: To manage a list of custom fields – as a project or as a parent task
- The more annoying way: To check alphabetically every time you need a custom field in Asana project
What we are asking for?
A top-level link that is pointing to a list of all custom fields in the current workspace, with indications for all the projects a field is added to.
Full view of custom fields in Asana is essential for two things:
- Preventing the creation of the same field twice, or even more
- Shortening the time needed for planning and implementing projects in Asana.
In a leading task management solution, like Asana, a user must have everything handy – at a glance or with few klicks. What custom fields are in a workspace and where they are is fundamental knowledge.
