Notion integration with Grammarly is lame, as you can’t correct grammar mistakes directly from the proofing app. It must be fixed
Notion (notion.so) is a wonderful writing tool. It is not yet perfect, of course, and has a way to go to match the benchmark of the WordPress Gutenberg editor, not to mention MS Word, but for note-taking and drafting, Notion is quite powerful and highly featured writing environment.
One of the top challenges Notion has to address for perfecting its writing UX is dramatically improving the integration with Grammarly.
Grammarly is a popular proofing tool. The free version is useful for spotting spelling and critical grammar mistakes. The premium version helps with vocabulary, styling, punctuation, context, and sentence structuring.
With the Grammarly browser extension, you can use Grammarly in most of the writing environments online – e-mail clients, note-taking apps, bookmarking services and of course dedicated writing tools.
Notion users can benefit Grammarly in the web app, but not in the Windows app. A good reason for PC users to stick with Notion’s web.
Yet, there is one bug in Notion integration with Grammarly;
What’s the problem?
While in any other writing surrounding, to fix an error all you need to do is click on the fixing suggestion in the Grammarly pop-ups, in Notion you have to close the pop-up and type the fix.
To say that this integration with Grammarly is most annoying would be an understatement.
What are we asking for?
The ability to fix spelling and grammar errors by clicking on the correction suggestion in the proofing tool. I.e., smooth integration with Grammarly.
Needless to say, Grammarly, or any other proofing tool for that matter, is an essential instrument with intensive utilization when using a writing vicinity like Notion. So, the procedure of closing the suggestion pop-up and type the correction for every missing comma is unacceptable face-value – it MBF.
